The following lists suggest camellias suited to particular positions.

For containers   Camellias should be compact, with good leaves, of moderate  growth habit and flowering abundantly to ensure a good display. Always remember that camellias can be pruned.  This is by no means a comprehensive list, but a guide.

For training on walls or against walls and fences     Camellias with leggier growth lend themselves to being trained in this fashion, it also suits camellias such as some reticulatas or sasanquas which appreciate the protection and extra warmth.  Any camellias with whippy young growth would be suitable.

For hedges      Camellia of strong dense growth with good flowering.  An evergreen camellia hedge is dense and attractive all year needing just gentle shaping every now and then.  Many others could be added to this list.
